Description

The IBM 100/200GB Linear Tape Open (LTO) Tape Drive provides a new benchmark for mid- to high-end IBM eserver xSeries and Netfinity systems that require a high-capacity, high-performance and high-reliability tape drive. Using its onboard hardware data compression feature, and assuming a 2: 1 compression ratio, this drive can store up to 200GB per cartridge, at a backup rate of up to 108GB/hr.The new 100/200GB LTO Internal Tape Drive establishes new benchmarks in capacity and performance for server backup. Its 100GB native capacity per cartridge marks at least a 66% increase over the current industry leaders. With native throughput of 54GB per hour, LTO tops the previous fastest drive by at least 10GB per hour, a 25% performance improvement. Because LTO standard system interface is Ultra2 SCSI (LVDS), it can support up to 80MB per second system data transfer rate.
